I’m Mari Calton, CFPA®, AVP Investment Executive, based in Okemos, Michigan. I work with clients in person and virtually, primarily serving Ingham and Jackson counties.

I discovered early in life that my passion was banking, where I've built a career spanning more than 30 years. After becoming licensed, I joined Independent Bank's Wealth Management team in 2020. I work with clients in every stage of life—from young professionals and business owners to those preparing for or enjoying retirement. I’m especially passionate about helping people navigate major life transitions, whether they're approaching retirement or coping with the loss of a loved one and the financial decisions that follow.

I provide comprehensive financial planning and investment management. When specialized tax questions arise, I collaborate with clients' tax professionals to help ensure their financial strategies align with their overall goals.

Building relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I begin every client relationship by learning about what matters most to them, then guide them through the planning process one step at a time using straightforward, easy-to-understand language. My clients can expect responsive service, proactive communication, and a trusted partner focused on helping them stay on track.

A lifelong resident of Charlotte, Michigan, I'm active in my community, serving as my church’s treasurer and as a member of the Rotary Club. As a mother of five and a new grandparent, I understand firsthand the financial and personal transitions families experience throughout life.
